While it is undoubtedly true that you can’t make an omelette without breaking some eggs, it is also true that broken eggs do not insure the creation of an omelette.

Sometimes, all you end up with is broken eggs, salmonella poisoning and a lawsuit.


Meanwhile, the major news channels are ooh-ing and awe-ing over the technical proficiency of those who broke the eggs.

It was quite the technological feat, to be sure. Just as watching the German blitzkrieg in 1939 Poland was an impressive thing.

The unintended consequences of that particular display didn’t come home to roost for another five and a half years.
