President Bill Clinton eulogizing Richard Nixon.

I remember this fondly yet oddly, I've not seen it in perhaps 8 years or so.

Behind the scenes, keep generational experiences in mind. Many of Bill Clinton's people - who were young Democrats who cut their teeth during the Nixon years were very against Clinton eulogizing Nixon in such a way, or even meeting and getting his counsel.

As an aside, President Clinton DID accept counsel from Richard Nixon on foreign affairs, most specifically Russia.

Paraphrasing: The line that I remember all these years is Clinton saying, that they day MUST come to an end, where Nixon is judged on anything *less* than his entire career.....think about Bill Clinton, saying that.

Indeed, when America was a nation-state.

Nostalgic this morning.
