I think that applies not only to money and possessions but also to people who get more recognition and recs than you do.
I started and deleted about three posts saying the same thing. I'm glad I did because none them were as good as how you put it.
There are about three or four posters who have expressed concern about inequitable distribution of recs. While it is nice to be appreciated, you can't spend recs and they don't pay interest. I don't think there is a whole lot of utility in complaining about it, especially since complaining doesn't change anything. If you want recs, don't complain. Make interesting posts instead.
