We are screwing with science and researchPoint of order. The grants that are being cancelled are of the lame variety:
https://www.urban.org/urban-wire/nsf-has-canceled-...Overall, we find that canceled contracts are far more likely to include key words in the DEI, race and ethnicity, gender and sexuality, and governance and policy categories than grants that haven’t been canceled. In fact, nearly 90 percent of all canceled projects included at least one word in the DEI category compared with about half of projects that have not been canceled, which appears to be consistent with NSF’s new stated priorities and the administration’s stated goals.Money should be going to real research, as in STEM, and not DEI bullsh1t. That seems to be happening, fortunately.
BTW - go check out what Mississippi is doing in terms of educational achievement in their public schools:
https://mississippitoday.org/2025/06/10/mississipp...A new report ranks Mississippi’s K-12 education at 16th in the nation, the state’s highest ranking ever.
The state’s Kids Count score has steadily risen from 48th in 2014 to 30th last year — though other measures have stagnated. They're making real progress in education. They still have work to do, but they're not seeing the blue-state led slide that other places are.
