For years I've warned about the left's constant apocryphal messaging regarding every issue on every topic.

Paul Ryan is going throw grandma down the stairs!
The planet is melting down - young people have no future!
Climate change will drive mass starvation, droughts and forest fires!
Your kids are all going to be shot at school!!!
MAGA Republicans are trying to overthrown the government!!!
There iS a lITeRaL gEnOcIdE of trans people in the red stateS!!!!!!!

So if you're an average person, you're probably mildly upset reading this. That 'mild upset' turns into "depressed" once you're fed these messages over and over again. It's no wonder than when you walk around blue areas you see nothing but fundamentally unhappy people.

But what happens if...a significant number of people in your political base are borderline manic to start with? What about the large numbers of American youth on psychotropic drugs? Would constant negative reinforcement of ideas that they have no future maybe contribute to or even accelerate mental illness?

We have our answer now.

Sturgeon reportedly hoped to showcase how easy it was to buy a gun in Kentucky and wanted to highlight the mental health crisis in America.

He also planned to end the slaughter by suicide ' a wish that was granted when he was shot to death by police officers when he brandished his firearm.

Yup. His murder spree was to make a political point.
The mass shooter in Tennessee was a trans person who also left a manifesto but the public isn't being allowed to see it, likely for similar reasons.

Again. I've warned for years about the apocalyptic rhetoric and now those seeds have grown into Trees Of Insanity all over the country. Well done.

And here's Exhibit A in the thread.
Never mind that the bank said exactly what I said.

Your minds aren't in bubbles. They're in solid steel cages.

Ironic. That's how I see the messaging that comes from the right.

It's no wonder than when you walk around blue areas you see nothing but fundamentally unhappy people.

How in the world do you come up with this? I live in Manhattan, where the streets are typically imbued with a sense of energy generated by a diverse array of people who are focused, animated, enjoying themselves.

We have our answer now.

The NY Post is not where you go for objective, reliable perspectives.
"In a 2004 survey conducted by Pace University, the Post was rated the least-credible major news outlet in New York, and the only news outlet to receive more responses calling it "not credible" than credible (44% not credible to 39% credible)." And yes, that survey was done in 2004, but the Post's perspective and reputation haven't budged.

That's how I see the messaging that comes from the right.

Do you have an example? I gave you several.

How in the world do you come up with this? I live in Manhattan, where the streets are typically imbued with a sense of energy generated by a diverse array of people who are focused, animated, enjoying themselves.

I live in Seattle, where people have their heads down in their phones all day and the Seattle Freeze is a thing.

You folks on this board seem to think that if you don't like what a link is that you can just say that and handwave away whatever you want.

Doesn't work.
The bank shooter specifically wrote that he wanted to go on his rampage to prove a political point about guns. It doesn't matter what media outlet ends up reporting it: the facts are the facts.

Your rhetoric is creating monsters.

Looks like you folks can't hit supposed "softballs" if the best you can do is complain about the link.

Maybe t-ball is more your speed?

You folks on this board seem to think that

Thank god we have you to tell us what we think. That was one of Rush Limboxy's favorite tactics; projecting what 'those people think" and "what those people would do if."

Of course, nobody could challenge his shit on the air.

Hannity, Carlson same deal. They can dish out the shit but they can't handle rebuttal..... which is exactly why Murdock coughed up $700+ millions.... to avoid them getting dunked under oath in the tank, 3 softballs for a quarter.

sheila727: That's how I see the messaging that comes from the right.

Do you have an example? I gave you several.

Examples of what, exactly? Your distorted view of what everyone on the Left thinks?

Good job.

Let's look at your wonderful NY Post link. The only worthwhile piece of reporting in the article is that "Specialists are testing the killer's brain for chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) ' brain deterioration caused by repeated head trauma ' after it was revealed he suffered numerous sports-related concussions." That is genuinely interesting.

As for your "examples," Paul Ryan in his first budget proposal gutted Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. And it was a "push Grandma off a cliff" presidential campaign ad, not unlike the endless "Obama is a socialist who going to steal your guns and bibles" accusations by republicans and endless Fox programs. So are all republicans insane because of those ads?

Your other examples are merely more projections.

Oddly, though, do you deny that there is a mass shooting just about every single day in America or that the leading cause of death of children is gun violence? As you wrote, facts are facts: Firearms have been the leading cause of death for US children and teens since 2020, representing 19% of all deaths for children 18 years and younger in 2021.

And since you missed it, on January 6 republicans did try to overturn a free and fair election at the direction of Donald Trump. If they had been successful, Trump and his conspirators in Congress -- 147 republicans voted to overturn the election -- would have stopped the transition to the new administration and blocked president Biden from taking office. By definition, Trump and his cult tried to overthrow the incoming government. Nearly every single day Trump claims the election was stolen. What kind of person stands by and lets him babble that BS without criticism?

And again, since you seem to have missed them, there are over 340 anti-LGBTQ+ bills at the state level, 150 of which target transgender people.

But you're right about one thing: facts are facts. What you've provided us though are not facts.

Examples of what, exactly?

Things you people say and what the media reports. It's not that hard.

The only worthwhile piece of reporting in the article is

You mean other than the killer's stated motive? The thing that you and every other leftist on this board are trying desperately to avoid talking about?

That thing? The part where he wanted to buy a gun and do a mass murder to prove how easy it was?

It's okay. They know.

leftist rhetoric kills.

Was that more than 3 times you dunked the Dope?? I lost count.

Be assured, Dope will climb right up on the dunk-tank bench and, ignoring your well written fact studded rebuttal, blare out the same nonsense as if the issues had never been discussed. Kinda like Groundhog Day.

I'm no shrink, and I haven't played one on TV, but I think get dunked like that day in, day out, is a lonely cry for attention.
