The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

It always fails to report that democrats are heavily ahead with people with college degrees…who make absolutely no money.

You mean.... like physicians?

Doctors are giving nearly twice as much to Democrats as Republicans this cycle, teaming with Kamala Harris’ campaign and broadcasting the hazards they see in a second Trump administration on social media.

And that was BEFORE the election, BEFORE Trump took the opportunity to trash health care.

Perhaps you meant engineers? Well, the picture is more mixed than you think it is:

Political Leaning Trends: Surveys of specific technical fields often show mixed political leanings depending on the industry sector (for example, aerospace and defense engineering environments can trend more conservative, while software or academic engineering can lean more progressive).

But if you lump everyone together, regardless of educational attainment, IN THIS ELECTION CYCLE, it looks like Republicans are headed into an electoral buzz saw. Of course Trump and his Republican allies are doing all they can at present to make sure that the will of the majority of American voters will not prevail in November.

Oh... and....

Colleges do not track majors or graduates for basket weaving because the standalone program does not exist.

Yes, yes.... we know... "basket weaving" is a place holder for "useless college courses", and by that, you include teachers, social workers, and English majors, etc. etc.... all professions that are filled with people who do not fit well as cogs in corporate America.

Thank God we have these people. Go back and read or re-read HG Wells' "The Time Machine".

Morlocks.

Thank God we are not all morlocks.
