The first time I heard someone say a person 'showed his ass', I was puzzled. But it is often an apt epithet. Certainly works for so much of Trump's stupid spew.
To "show one's ass" (or sometimes "show one's butt") is a colloquial and somewhat vulgar phrase, primarily used in the US and Canada. It signifies acting or behaving in a rude, obnoxious, foolish, or inappropriate manner.
And Trump does it AGAIN (or should I say constantly).
Speaking to President Boakai of Liberia:
Donny: “thank you, and such good English. where did you learn to speak so beautifully? you were educated where?”
Liberia’s President Joseph Boakai: “Liberia.”
Donny: “in Liberia? that’s very interesting. beautiful English, too. I have people at this table can’t speak nearly as well.”
Of course Donny doesn't know what Liberia is or where it is. But that is to be expected.
But he is shocked that an African can speak 'such good English'. Almost like a white man who is not from a shithole country.
