I doubt the convict will ever reach "literal Hitler" levels. I remarked in 2016 how his campaign resembled that of the National Socialist Workers Party from the 20s and early 30s in Germany. The Atlantic a couple of months later published an article that echoed my observations. His administration was as undemocratic as we've seen in forever (lots of attempts to govern by edict). His 2020 campaign was more of the same. This year he started actually quoting Hitler. All the while, various militia groups and the actual NAZI party have not been shy about their support of him.
So, it is safe to conclude he is a fascist. His words and actions tell us that much. He is an authoritarian, envious of Putin and Xi not having to deal with any significant opposition (e.g. a congress, the courts). He has no respect for democratic institutions, and so long as he is in power, democracy is in peril.
