Berkshire Hathaway owns 9.3% of Pool Corp, currently worth about $1 billion.
They started buying in Q2 2024 and made additional purchases through Q2 2025, at an estimated average price of $320. Stock now trades around $240, or about 25% lower.
Apparently, the main culprit for share price drop is a decline in new construction due to high interest rates. But 65% of Pool Corp business is maintenance which is still growing at 2%.
Stock now trades at 18 times estimated 2026 estimated, not necessarily an obvious bargain for a cyclical company tied to housing and home improvement market.
