The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

NYC plans to keep housing migrants in hotels through at least 2025

Snip
“NEW YORK CITY (TNND) — New York City on Tuesday began soliciting bids from contractors to help find hotels for migrants seeking asylum.

The Department of Homeless Services listed on the city website a request for proposal, which describes how the agency is looking for a contractor that can help find large hotels and hotel management services to address the "current emergency.”

Social services vendors would use 14,000 units over a large number of hotels in the New York City region to house clients who are seeking asylum and have entered the shelter system, according to the listing.”
