The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

Surprised folks are only underwater by an average of $7k. A $60k truck loses that as it’s driven off the lot. I see a few folks regretting spending $60k or more on a Model Y 3 or 4 years ago, to find out it’s now a $25k car.

“Meanwhile, automakers pay lip service to "affordable" cars, while cutting their lower priced models to juice their ATP and GP.”

Some manufacturers, e.g. Ford. Chevy has a cheap SUV (made in S. Korea). The Japanese and Korean brands have lots of cheaper cars to choose from. If buyers want a nice new car for <$30k they can get one.

Funny (to me) - the top selling car in the UK is the Ford Puma, a small cross-over. Not sold in the USA.
