It doesn't have all that great a brand among those communities. It doesn't have a great brand in outstate Michigan. I have told the story before how, when I was in elementary school, in the early 60s, we were read stories about the horrors of living under Communism.
Of course, not only is El-Sayed brown, he's a Muslim. The GOP is trying to hang him around the necks of all the other Dems.
I had to laff the first time I saw El-Sayed's campaign ad. Starts out like a typical GOP fear mongering screed.
