"The supporters experience these kinds of ecstatic moments in these authoritarian rallies. It provides that sense of community and belonging. And it really taps into emotion, mostly anger and fear. And it goes to that visceral sense of something not being right, and someone's going to do something about it. And in that context, the authoritarian project doesn't have to be right on the facts."
