Why would the police do that?

Well…. If there are protests, it might not be local police facing off with the protestors.

If Trump invokes the Insurrection Act the that he’s says he’s been promising to do on “Day One”, we might be talking about the 82nd or 101st Airborne. And there won’t be a Milley or a Kelley in the White House talking him down from his hairbrained notion that shooting protestors is a great idea.

And then a protestor advances too close to the line, is killed, and becomes a much more credible martyr than Ashlee Babbitt ever was.

I’m not sure Donald can think that far ahead, so that scenario is possible.
