If the opposition's candidate of choice didn't get ballot access or wasn't allowed to run... then the 2024 winner wouldn't be legitimate and we'd have to deny the election.

Would you say the same is true if Barack Obama tried to run for a third term? That the election wouldn't be legitimate because he wasn't allowed to run against Trump, in place of Joe Biden?
