At the White House Correspondents dinner last night, president Biden was relaxed, funny, and he fully embraced the Dark Brandon meme, an aspersion by republicans that has been totally reclaimed by Biden. Finishing his speech, putting on dark sunglasses he turned directly to the audience and said:
"I'm going to be fine with your jokes, but I'm not sure about Dark Brandon." If Biden is able to channel this kind of naturalness and ease during the campaign, he'll be fine. He even addressed his age head-on:
"Look, I get that age is a completely reasonable issue. It's in everybody's mind and by everyone, I mean the New York Times. Headline: 'Biden's advanced age is a big issue. Trump's, however, is not.'"In case you're unaware, there's a Twitter handle, New York Times Pitchbot, that makes fun of the paper's need to turn everything against Biden, such as: "The US economy is now growing faster than the Chinese economy. Here's why that's bad news for Joe Biden."
