I had done some pondering on escaping the country to get away from the extreme Arizona heat but Europe has been very bad at times.
And, in general, they have no A/C. I learned that from various comments during the World Cup.
I have been contemplating a move. The question is "where?". Once MIL dies (she's 88), we won't need as much house. It's possible the Western states are out because of severe water shortages that are only going to get worse. Canada would be great, but they don't want retired Americans. Alaska also would be great, but medical care there is not to the standards we likely will need as we age (yeah, I looked it up). Maybe New York state? Been there once, and it was lovely.
The heat sucks. I can always bundle-up for the cold. Sweaters, blankets... But with heat, you can only go to naked and then you're stuck. I expect water restrictions in the next decade or so (Denver already has them).
