Obviously, Mr. Kirk’s murder had a deep and profound emotional impact on Mr. Trump

It was obvious President Trump was diverting attention from himself and his feelings.
Trump doesn’t do personal feelings.

In a clip from a long time ago being replayed on FOX, Don Jr was speaking about Charlie Kirk and
how his Father regarded Charlie as being one of his sons and a member of the family.
