Colorado republican representative Ken Buck was scheduled to leave Congress at the end of the year but announced today that's he's pushed his departure up and will resign his seat next week.

Buck said this has been the worst year of the nine years and three months that he's been in Congress and that other, longer serving representatives have told him it's the worst year in 40-50 years.

People are trying to figure out when Colorado will hold a Special Election to fill his seat, with next month being the most likely time window. There's also talk that this is bad for Boebert. She would have to resign her current House seat in order to be eligible for the Special Election and it is also too late to qualify for the ballot in her current district. She could decide to run against the winner of the Special Election in November but that's a tough hill to climb.

Another resignation or two and it'll be Speaker of the House, Hakeem Jeffries and the House can actually get some work done and some legislation written.
