I think Friedman is being surpassingly naive with that statement....

Article IX, Section G sez

Filling a Vacancy on the National Ticket: In the event of death, resignation or disability of a nominee of the Party for President or Vice President after the adjournment of the National Convention, the National Chairperson of the Democratic National Committee shall confer with the Democratic leadership of the United States Congress and the Democratic Governors Association and shall report to the Democratic National Committee, which is authorized to fill the vacancy or vacancies.

The open questions are, who makes the determination of disability? Who gets to certify the disability? It doesn't really say.

Then there's Kamala Harris. What to do with her?

The most practical problem the dems face are the delegates, who are *all* Biden's people. He would have to personally ask them to release their votes and they would have to go along with it.

The main obstacle will be Edith Wil- er, Jill Biden. Will she give up the power she holds now?
