I think not being able to customize the Favorites to include boards you are interested in, regardless of how many posts it has, makes boards like Markel invisible to most users.

Favourites do not relate to how many posts a board has. You add a board to your Favourites by recommending just one post, or writing just one post, and you remove boards from your Favourites with the "customise" icon shown below the favourites board list.

Note that your above post, despite the Markel board just starting now, is your most recommended post of the last three weeks. Never underestimate how much readers look around Shrewd'm.

Board frequency is a very poor indicator of how much the board is valued by the community. In the past some boards would receive one or two posts a month but still each post had many recommendations, with readers checking back on the boards consistently.

You have to navigate to the board to see if there are any new posts.

You don't have to navigate to each board. If you visit "Favourites" it shows which boards have received a new post with a yellow star appearing to the right of those boards.
