This article in Seeking Alpha, uses a valuation model suggested by Tom Gayner, to arrive at a value of $1765. The current market price $1335 is a 25% discount to this value.
Mr. Market took exception to the fall in book value, those Gayner took pains to emphasize it was temporary due to fall in value of bonds which would be reversed in future as they intend to hold them till maturity.
Using a 1.5 to 1.6 P/BV simplistic valuation as many do, yields a much lower value.

I think not being able to customize the Favorites to include boards you are interested in, regardless of how many posts it has, makes boards like Markel invisible to most users. You have to navigate to the board to see if there are any new posts. I am not sure too many users may even know there is a new post in MKL board.
