The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

Another way Trump has helped us wealthy folks, bigly...
Trumps 2017 tax cuts doubled the estate tax exemption, raising it from $5.5 million per individual in 2017 to $11.18 million in 2018, and indexed it for inflation each year thereafter.
For 2025, the exemption is set at $13.99 million per individual or $27.98 million for married couples.
Trumps changes dramatically reduced the number of estates subject to federal estate tax, fewer than 0.1% of estates have been taxed since the exemption was doubled.
(Inheritances account for roughly 40 percent of all wealth in the United States. Just ask Trump, who is only wealthy because of his Daddy.)
In the United States, thanks in large part to Trump, wealth disparities have widened substantially, with the share of wealth held by the wealthiest 1% of households rising to 30.4%
at the beginning of 2024 from 22% at the end of 1989.

All while Trump plans to cut Medicaid and SNAP to pay for more tax cuts for the rich and Trump has already promised a record $1 trillion military budget.
His priorities couldn’t be more clear.
Help and protect the wealthy elites.
