My better half got a cold last week. The last free tests we got from .gov had 2024 expirations, so I bought the box test at the local market. One test in the box for $14.
Ripoff price, but it was fast and we didn't want to delay aquiring paxlovid if she had covid (she tested Negative). Current protocol recommends testing after a couple days to be sure.
I checked Amazon that evening. Got next day delivery on 3 boxes with 2 tests in each box for $17, or about $2.80 per test. Worth it to have on hand thru the upcoming party season.
People lacking the wherewithal won't spring for that initial test. They'll blithely share their aerosol wherever; the store, the cafe, at work.
