The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

What an admirable rise, first of all.

Back when I gave a shit and didn't enjoy watching your country experience decline i used to say that places like Raleigh, Austin, etc were testaments to PURPLE which is the secret of America. It was a testament to good favorable conditions for business on one hand - BUT equally if not more a testament to education, science, diversity, tolerance. And anywhere from Raleigh to Austin to Atlanta, it works (mind you the last one has more crime....i just cant imagine *why*)'

So let's see despite all those well educated upper income (in their own mind) wage-slaving Liberals living there, and all of their celebrate exploitative Liberal Big Corporations there......

First off nice to see Trump cut education funding there:

kut.org - Austin independent school district texas department of education federal grant funding cuts trump administrati

"Austin ISD will need to figure out which programs it can maintain after the Trump administration announced at the end of June it was withholding more than $6 billion in federal grants to schools nationwide."

Why not just raise local taxes and raise 6 billion? Oh i forgot, Liberals don't like to pay.

Anyway, good. Less after-school programs are fine---the great "culture" in America will see to it that the kids find worthy things to do. Professional development for teachers --- gone. - haha

And finally cut are services for migrants and English learners ---i used to want that but now i'd rather see you people spend more on it because , well, you deserve the expense especially at this time of debt and deficit :) Hopefully the English speaking migrants go elsewhere (from Canada to Portugal to new Zealand they are being recruited ;)

Anyhow, you greedy Austin professionals: Keep paying the taxes and in return, Daddy delivers you school cuts and a deficit.

As always, personal attacks are replied to with celebrating real events.
