Mark or some other GTR1 guru - anyway to only pick stocks ie Operating Companies - eliminating ETFs , Funds etc.

Not quite sure what you are trying to do, and I'm rusty on GTR1 as I haven't been around for a while.
You would not just pick operating companies without some screening steps to select and rank them somehow.
Here's the YLDEARNYEAR_SI screen I had stored, and I threw some timing on it (not the proper complete BCC or the newer BC(continuum)).

You'll note the step styp.a != 14!15!17!23!44!45!73!74!75!76!77.
This one screens out various non-operating companies, ETF's, limited partnerships, SPACs, etc.
In most of my screens I just use styp.a = 11!12, which is probably a little more restrictive.
Unfortunately I don't have handy a list of all the styp.a codes.
