The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

No wonder the Marouns fought it, and our oligarchic president slowed it down.

The odd thing is, how little traffic there was on the bridge. I would have expected a mob to be there, because it's the first day. Instead, hardly anyone on it.

Another thing I noticed; the bridge deck is all concrete, no steel grills, like on the Big Mac. The railings are solid concrete too, where the Big Mac has steel railing that leave plenty of room for the wind to blow through. Well, this isn't the first bridge built of this design. But then, the designers of the Ambassador, Golden Gate, and Brooklyn, pretty much got it right, with open trusses, before anyone did a deep dive into bridge aerodynamics.

A day or two back, Trump the Toxic was bragging about the new deal he did about the bridge: where half of the after running costs revenue goes in to his slush fund/pocket. As the "news" reported it, part of that "deal" was the Howe was to charge prevailing rates, meaning the same as the Ambassador, so Trump the Toxic pockets more money faster.

Speaking of Trump the Toxic's pockets, the news commented, last week, that he has stolen all of Venezuela's oil revenue, but I haven't checked other sources yet. Makes sense. Why would he insist that the Venezuelan money go in an offshore account in Qatar, if he did not intend to steal it?
