I was a Department head for a Fortune 200 for several years before I retired. One of my primary duties was attending meetings - Staff meetings with my VP, meeting with vendors, project status meetings, HR meetings rolling out the latest regulations, committee meetings, budget meetings, standards meeting, planning meetings with other divisions of the company, and on and on. Some of these meeting were moderately useful but most took about twice as much time as necessary. One of the biggest time wasters that I never did but usually there were one or two that would do, just annoyed the hell out of me and others who were there to discuss company matters.

Right in the middle of the meeting, someone would just call up their dad and put him on a speaker phone. They would shoot the breeze about the weather and sports while the rest of use just chilled eagerly waiting for the call to end so we could get back to business. Happened all the time, completely normal, nothing unusual about it.

How about others here? If you were in big business, I'll bet this was a common occurrence in your company meetings too.

First, that wasn't what was claimed.

Representative Comer said these conversations occurred over dinners: When Joe Biden was Vice President of the United States, he joined Hunter Biden's dinners with his foreign business associates in person or by speakerphone over 20 times."

Gee, was your Dad previously a high ranking senator or a current vice president of the United States?

Were you a drug addict a couple of million dollars in debt?

Were you trying to sell the "illusion" of access to Washington?

And this happened, what, 20 times over eight years?

Bottom line: Archer did affirm to the committee that Hunter Biden was selling the "illusion" of access to his father, but later clarified that the president's son was actually selling the illusion of access to Washington, DC, and knowledge of how it worked.

More important bottom line: You don't have one shred of evidence connecting Joe to Hunter's business dealings after this witness testimony.

How about others here? If you were in big business, I'll bet this was a common occurrence in your company meetings too.

Let's describe a different business model. Let's say I'm a local union boss and I want to throw my weight around my town. So I get some local businesses who might want to build things or expand their businesses in my town on the phone. After I lay out my pitch on how I can help them Do Bidness within the city I need a kicker to help me close the deal. Something to justify the exorbitant fees they're going to pay me.

So in the middle of the phone call I dial my cell and get the Mayor, the city planner and the permit dude on a multi-party line and put them on speaker.

I ask them "Say! You guys ready for our weekly golf foursome on Saturday? Got lots of stuff to talk about!" I follow that with some gentle trash talking about how much they play out of the sand. Since I'm a cheesy union boss closing a sale, I retell the David Hasselhoff joke from Happy Gilmore. They laugh.

I hang up the cell call.

I go back to the main call. I say, "See? I'm a guy who knows other guys and I can make things happen for you. If you don't want to work with me, lotsa luck..." letting my voice trail off. That way they can draw the conclusion that I want them to draw: that hiring me is like having...protection...if you will.

The media and the NPC's here are going to claim iT'S aLL a nOtHiNgBuRgEr but what I've described is how every big city in America has been run since the early 1800's. The amount of rank dishonesty that's about to go on display will be epic.

Well you got me there. No evidence except,

"The democrats are correct:
Outside of the bank records, the suspicious activity reports, the wire transfers, the Privat bank transactions, the LLCs, the texts, the emails, the WhatsApp messages, the photos of Joe with Hunter's business partners, the voicemails to his son, the two business partners saying Joe is the 'brand,' the 'big guy,' and 'the chairman,' the two whistleblowers testimony, the recorded phone calls between Biden and Poroshenko, the video of Joe Biden bragging about firing the Ukrainian prosecutor, and Hunter's statements that he's giving his dad half his income, there is NO evidence of Joe Biden being involved. I was going to ask for a link to your quote but Googled and see it's from Dan Bongino. No wonder you didn't want to attribute that quote. BTW, that's all bullsh!t and I feel sorry for you for believing it but, hey, that's why they call it a cult, right?

And again, you guys realize that Devon Archer is going to prison for being a crook, right? And your IRS whistleblower admitted that he was routinely overruled by prosecutors.

But if you have a link to any evidence of Bongino's bullsh!t, please cite it. (No need to do the firing of Viktor Shokin. Here's the fact check that show's that one's bullsh!t: https://www.factcheck.org/2020/10/trump-revives-fa...

"the photos of Joe with Hunter's business partners", which is part of the 20 instances, and the 20 instances are the only things in the Hunter Biden opera connected to Joe. You have Archer stating that no "business" was ever discussed with Joe. So anything else is innuendo. It's smoke. Do you have anything you could present to a Grand Jury? No.

When I joined our company, we were small. But we grew to be one of the major players before I retired. In some categories, we're #1 now.

Meetings were the bane of my existence. But I was a lab rat. I got good enough that usually I would get called to a meeting, I would go first presenting my results, and then I'd leave. But meetings that didn't go that way, where I had to sit for an hour or two, were a huge waste of time. Especially if "business" people were in the room. If it was just technical folks, we'd discuss what was going on, ways to solve the problem, and we'd leave. Put someone from marketing in there, or a "manager", and suddenly the meeting was twice as long, but not as productive.

But, no, no one would ever take or place a call during a meeting unless it was an emergency (and then they would step out of the room to do it). When 1poorlady had cancer, I would have to step out (I was NOT missing a call from a doctor).

Oh...you were talking Hunter. Your OP didn't make that clear (to me). I thought you were talking about meetings in general. Huge time-wasters, generally. As a lab rat, if you're going to have me write a report anyway, why not just read it instead of making me sit in a meeting for an hour telling you what the report will say?

If Hunter was using it to name-drop, that's a different animal. I wasn't in any meetings like that, and I'm pretty sure our CEO wouldn't have tolerated anyone on their phone in one of his meetings.
