Many of the people being rounded up by ICE aren't even criminals. Most of the rest haven't done anything worse than illegal entry. And just because someone has done something wrong doesn't mean that they deserve to be treated the way ICE and the Border Patrol are treating people.
Until they are adjudicated, NONE of them are criminals. At best, alleged criminals. We don't (or didn't use to) treat presumed-innocent people so harshly.
A worthy epitaph, but one that shouldn't have had to be written.
