Getting worse fast while we stick our heads in the sand like ostriches

I knew the climate changer deniers and minimizers would eventually have to modify their arguments in the face of overwhelming factual evidence.

The most common refrain I now hear from those who would deny climate change is the simplistic "the climate has always been changing" or "when in the history of the earth has the climate not been changing" and the simple minded Dunning-Kruger crowd smugly think they have put an end to the argument with no regard for the speed of the change and the possible consequences of that.

Another argument is the 'why worry', it might be beneficial. Good luck with that.

Another: we can't afford to deal with it effectively, it will hurt the economy and my personal (or corporate) finances, so what the hell.

Now...as to the fires in LA? Santa Ana winds are nothing new. Are these more powerful because of climate change? I don't think it is possible to say.
