The LAPD chief just blew away the left's narrative, and sunk Newsom's lawsuit to stop the National Guard deployment:

We saw the first night was bad, what we've seen subsequent to that is getting increasingly worse and more violent. TOnight we had individuals out there shooting commercial grade fireworks at our officers (Note: that's a common Antifa tactic). That can kill you. We have adapted our tactics to be able to have a chance to be able to take these people into custody and to hold them accountable.

We are overwhelmed as far as the number of people out there engaged in this type of activity and the types of things that they're doing. They'll take backpacks and the backpacks will have a cinder block and a hammer in it and they'll use the hammer to break up the cinder block and use that to throw at our officers, to throw at cars and at other people.

...There's no limit to what they're doing to our officers.

He went on. He was asked, do we need the National Guard?

Then he said, "Before I can answer that I'd need to know more about what their capabilities are". But the real answer is hell yes, we need the Guard.
