I confess I do not understand the energy/oil business as well as I do other sectors of BRK, and I don't own any shares of OXY directly, but WEB always seemed to be a fan of Holub, so I do not understand the hostility towards her.
OXY is sitting on a load of Permian basin oil that Charlie likened to a nest egg. No scandals that I know of. Greg negotiated the OxyChem acquisition with Holub, and that seemed to go smoothly. Has he said anything about her or OXY since then? If he has, I haven't seen it. He has commented on other topics and other managers, but not OXY and not Holub.
So I am curious. Aside from Holub's embrace of DAC, which I like even if others do not, what is the knock on her?
