Don't forget, that AI at its heart is amoral. It has no concept of morality, good or bad, and is entirely clandestine in its actions.
That's entirely dependent on whether notions of morality were used to determine how it operates. Why can't morality play a role just as well as speed, efficiency or optimization can? Morality doesn't imply fundamentally subjective. Morality can be almost entirely rational.
That said, if you train your AI on fundamentally immoral ideas like white nationalism or the inferiority of POC, you will end up with a very immoral result.
