This is why the demoncrat power brokers like Bernie and Warren placed their bets on Platner, despite all the obvious negative "lifestyle" info that was available on him from before Day 1. (Nazi tattoo, abuse of women, the fact that--look at him--he's a total douche bag, he's a frikkin' clown.)

So here is the reason, this is the way Demoncrat elites "think" about stuff like this: People like bernie and warren think to themselves that Republican voters and independents who lean right (actually center but we all know that) are a-holes and like to vote for a-holes. So bernie and warren and that commie brain trust have a bright idea of how to try to get some additional votes from the center and the right and win the Maine Senate Seat--"Let's just nominate a total, obvious, douchbag A-hole! Because voters on the center and the right are by definition douche bag A-holes, and will also vote for a douchebag A-hole!"

Its as simple as that. Warren and Bernie and the rest didn't support and prop up Plattner all this time because they weren't aware he was a douchebag A-hole. Quite the contrary, that was a feature, not a bug.
