Greggs currently has a remarkable amount of short interest by UK standards. I think this probably reflects the high likelihood of bad short-medium term results causing a move down in the price. However, if something spectacularly good were to happen, shorts could be fried. I have no position in Greggs at the moment, having sold into the recent rally.
Please excuse any errors & omissions. I haven't included every company from the 'top 50 most shorted', just the ones where a sector seemed to stand out. I have no position in any of these companies, long or short.
