With only 4 trading days left this year, I thought I'd share my investing results for 2024. You already know many of the stocks I hold, because I told you about them back in August in this post:

https://www.shrewdm.com/MB?pid=720026122

Here are the YTD returns on just the 8 stocks I mentioned. I've also included their returns since I announced that I was buying the dip.

Price on	Price	Buy on dip	Price on
8/5/2024 today Return 12/31/2023 YTD return
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
AMZN 161.02 229.05 42.2% 149.93 52.8%
NVDA 100.45 140.22 39.6% 48.17 191.1%
MSFT 395.15 439.33 11.2% 370.87 18.5%
MU 90.42 89.28 -1.3% 82.34 8.4%
QCOM 157.95 159.36 0.9% 140.23 0.9%
AVGO 142.08 239.68 68.7% 108.54 120.8%
MELI 1776 1743.29 23.8% 1529.16 14.0%
TTD 83.22 123.96 20.7% 70.59 75.6%
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Average 25.7% 61.9%

These, plus my positions in RDDT and APP (up 173% and 230% since purchase), along with my SMCI trade earlier this year, have resulted in a gain of 73.4% in the aggressive growth portion of my portfolio. My overall portfolio gain this year is 51.3% since I still have a sizeable chunk in plain old boring SPY which is up 28.3%.

I've also had quite a few losers. Even though CVNA was up big this year, my timing was bad, and I exited at a loss. Also took a loss on ZIM even after it paid a big fat dividend.

In 2023, I was up 41%, thanks to being overweight the Mag 7, particularly AMZN.

I'm going to have enormous capital gains next year, so am looking into buying a second home next year down in FL after cashing out most of my gains. I can use it as a vacation rental, and use the depreciation to get some tax breaks. Planning to pay 100% cash for it.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy (and prosperous) New Year ahead.
