The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

(Culture and Socioeconomically, 401K Sheeples never ever wanted to talk about why what used to be entry level work, becoame full time careers for so many)

They were too busy praising Friedman for giving the "JCs" ideological cover for offshoring manufacturing, so they could buy the stuff they want cheaper.

So, now, flipping burgers is a career. You should see how many middle aged people I see working in fast food places, and have been there for years.

BEAUTIFUL POST sir. Sorry to compliment you, i dont mean to sully your reputation :)

Indeed, the 401K'ers, shouting "Krugman nails it" and "Friedman"! were all happy bcause THEIR greedy 401K asses were enjoying the rewards of cheap labor, and to their credit - their skill set was in demand so that combo made a bunch of this cubicle ass-clowns into 401K millionaires. Ok, well played.

Steve it was no different on my side. I used to scream loudly about the "information economy" and how it's going to gangbang a majorty of america *despite* stats and stock markets. And my side - Newt, Bush, etc all shouted "we cant be protectionist!" "we cant be isolationist"! They were all on the same team. Bush, Newt, Clinton, doesn't matter they were all in on it.'

So here we are.

When we venture out of our bubbles - we see anger and desperation on people's faces.

Socioeconomics and culture---we screwed the pooch. Just think there's dogs out there bragging in the locker room "i did it human style"!

Hee hee
