No one knows more about aircraft carrier design than Trump of course. Another vanity project boondoggle in the making. Thanks MAGA.
I am reminded of Swedish King Gustav II Adolph, who in the early 1620’s demanded a ship built to his specifications during the Thirty Years War. He wanted two full canon decks with 64 bronze canons, and despite being warned that the narrow hull which was being built for speed and maneuverability would be susceptible to sway because of the armament weight, also instructed that 700 ornate sculptures grace the rails and upper deck, so as to project his vision of power.
Even with 120 tons of stone for ballast, during its maiden voyage a gust of wind tipped the boat, and because all the canon ports were open to show the firepower of the ship for the King, water poured in to the lower canon deck. The boat staggered and sank, a mere 1300 yards from its launch site. History records that King Adolph was not dissuaded from his belief in his design prowess, and continued giving instructions to his ship builders for the remainder of his reign. The Vasa remained underwater for over 300 years.
Perhaps he, too, took advice from Roy Cohn who counseled never to admit you were wrong?
