But, oh! Such an excellent time of year to begin a reread and freshen the memory, not to mention, discover things never previously considered on any prior read. I've been reading The Lord of the Rings, plus The Hobbit, plus The Silmarillion, roughly every 3 years since high school. So roughly 15 readings. And I usually start on Bilbo and Frodo's shared September 22 birthday. Great time to go "on an adventure," as Bilbo says in The Hobbit movie (but not in the book).
I love to read the greats multiple times. I tell people, "No man ever steps in the same book twice, for although it's the same book, he's not the same man."
