The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

This is a pre-print that has not gone through peer review. But, if it passes muster, is very fascinating. I know what they are talking about in general terms, but wasn't aware of the specifics of dimensionality. I'll highlight the key point, but it's a short read (and free).

iflscience.com - The universe could be simple we might be what makes it complicated suggests new quantum gravity paper prof bri

This Hilbert space of potentially infinite dimensions, when it comes to quantum gravity in a closed universe, is one-dimensional. The crucial consequence of this, which is the reason for the footnote, is that such a universe cannot have an external observer.

So, if this pans-out, says that either the universe is not closed (very possible), or if it is then there is no god (external observer).
