If someone appears to be repeatedly personal, lean towards patience as they might not mean offense. If you are sure, however, then do not deepen the problem by being negative; instead, simply place them on ignore by clicking the unhappy yellow face to the right of their name.

If an otherwise intelligent person exhibits willful ignorance, does that make them stupid?

The trend of MAGAs lionizing ignorance is tricky to criticize effectively. A poorly educated plumber can make a ton of money, but beyond installing pipes that don't leak his stupidity/willful ignorance can be a detriment to mankind and the environment by endorsing the dumping of harmful chemicals/pesticides/drugs/etc into those drains.
