Yes, it is.

We've already committed to this experiment. We're going to run it. Most of the glaciers will be gone by 2100. They appear to be melting faster than originally thought, worldwide.

There's no stopping it at this point. Despite well-meaning efforts to curtail the burning of hydrocarbons, this will continue for the foreseeable future in uncontrolled ways. Few, if any, nations will meet their climate targets (which likely will be revised in the future, and then not met again).
