POTUS has said, out loud, repeatedly, that he wants to raise enough revenue with tariffs, to repeal the income tax. I take him at his word, on that issue.

A rhetorical question, really, as I will never see the reply unless someone again reposts it, which is not something I am asking for, but given IIRC Trump has essentially written in his book The Art of the Deal how stupid telling the truth is when a lie will get you closer to your goal, why oh why would you believe a word he states, either verbally or written? Completely illogical.
