The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

But Russia doesn’t have enough planes…

And they’re running low on tanks……

Also starting to have recruiting problems

Ukraine manufactured 2 million first person drones in 2024, and is set to double that amount this year.

Russia is hurting. Via satellite images, we know they have been scavenging their boneyards. One supposed advantage that Russia had at the outset is they had "depth" in materiel. And it has helped them as they suffered unexpected losses. At this point, they are scraping the bottom of the boneyard barrel, reactivating stuff from as far back as WWII (mostly artillery from WWII, from what we can tell). Tanks from as far back as the 50s. Etc.

From what I've read, some of the bombers damaged/destroyed are irreplaceable because they don't make them anymore (and don't really make comparable replacements, either).

As I predicted (and I am NOT the first), if Ukraine can hold out a bit longer (till the beginning of 2026), Russia is going to be really hurting. This drone attack just compounded the Russian problem(s). With Europe stepping-up support, I don't have much doubt at this point that Ukraine can hold out another 6 months (or more).

Anyone saying "they don't have the dudes" just doesn't get it, and doesn't understand. Which is fine...most people probably don't, unless they are "wonks" in this sort of thing (or listen to the wonks).

Russia would have to make a major shift in economic priorities (i.e. go to a real wartime footing/economy) to continue, or start using tac-nukes. I doubt either will be tolerated by the Russian people (nor the international community, in the latter instance). His is a dictatorship, but even then he can only ignore the people for so long.
