Some Christian leaders in the city have argued that massacres like this one require prayers, not politics. But others say their religion is being twisted to distract from calls for mental health checks and other gun restrictions. Sometimes, they say, the call for prayer is used as a silencer.

Imagine how different it would be if the people with 'mental health issues' only had access to knives. All those cops in Uvalde would have been racing one another to be first thru the door. Heck, a janitor with a can of pepper spray and a broom handle could have handled it, or a principal with a taser.
