Canadian, Swedish and Australian banks are some of the best in the world and are protected oligopolies. Their regulators are also more sensible and less hostile to the mega banks.

TD Bank, Handelsbanken and Commonwealth Bank are the best in class in the three countries respectively. Probably not as cheap as some large caps US banks like Citi, but then Citi has been ineptly managed for decades.
