The "secret sauce" of many of the honchos I saw in action, up close: convinced they are uniquely gifted, they build an echo chamber around themselves, and fill it with yes-men. The US is littered with the bones of once prominent companies that were run into the ground by their own management.

I almost fell over laffing this morning, when I read a new article, on another site: "Every once in a while, however, one gets the idea that nobody in the room was willing to say “no” to the boss, and automotive history is sprinkled with such failures".

For years, I have heard pols say "I will run the government like a business". Well, now we have a "JC" POTUS, who really "runs the government like a business", with all the refusal to hear dissenting views, and focus on self-aggrandizement that involves.
