I would agree, as far as his policies go. But he made two disastrous mistakes. One was not to pursue Trump aggressively for his crimes, because Biden thought Trump would fade and disappear and ignoring him would be a way to heal the divisions in America. The other was to run for re-election when he could no longer hack it. The tragic result is that Biden’s positive legacy has been completely erased by Trump, both in people’s minds and in the practical effect of his policies.

On the Trump crime stuff---I'm glad he didn't. Even now ---when Dems take Congress----IF someone *truly* wants to beat Trump? Do it with policy and tone. Do it on health care. Wages. Job security. When Trump or the new MAGA guy comes--- there will be a few less people who are angry, sad, scared, broke, etc and they will not listen to the message. And these people can go back to doing AM Radio shows with erectile dysfunction sponsors.

My side went after Clinton---and nobody gave a shit. People care about what's in their pockets. Not you. Not much of this board. Not many 401K'ers but the people out there? They honestly give a shit more about their money and kids---not who sucked off Clinton, and no -- not even Trump's corruption. People sort of KNOW there's corruption BUT in a tribal country of angry people----- people WILL turn a blind eye to their Mufti: This is true for Al Sadr. For Karzai. For W Bush. For Hunter Biden. For Donald Trump. For Al Sharpton.

On the re-election thing -- as much as I so like Biden---I have no choice but to agree that you are right. As someone who claims to "score politics as an impartial student of the game"---I have no choice but to agree.

BUT even with the way he did it..... let us not absolve Senator Harris and -- I know you won't even agree 1% -- but certain stances: Pronouns. Illegals. Certain attitudes---make it hard to win national elections. Senator Harris--was LEADING Trump in the polls. She WHIPPED him in the only debate. She outspent him yet her LEAD evaporated convincingly. We can say "racist" and "sexist" but Hillary got damn close despite being a bad personality. Hussein Obama ---did ok in his two terms but he didn't pseudo frown on some Americans. Again --not asking you to agree--just asking ----contemplate why a slight minority of America now rules your SCOTUS.


Again if people want platitudes and "my values" and "my democracy"--- great, I hope it works out better---not sure how it is so far. BUT......

If a Rahm Emanuel, a Shapiro, a Beshear, etc literally say "Our wall with Mexico will be 10 feet taller". "China will never sell chopsticks in our malls ever again"-----NOW THEY'VE ROBBED MAGA OF THEIR KEY GET OUT OF THE VOTE PASSION. Then....ahem...... Wages - and AI job protections. Health insurance -- restoring ACA subsidies. INFRASTRUCTURE - like the projects Repubs now take credit for despite being against. Run on that stuff??????? And All Republicans have is "noun, verb, tax credit" ---- they lose.

The sole reason I *sometimes* give a shit is I have teen and college age kids. Me? I have turnkey life ---would take 48 hours and I'd be abroad with a chef cooked hot meal. But it's not the life I want for my kids. So sometimes I get weak. I want to see good governance and it frustrates me----when MAGA's opponents --help MAGA win ----over and over again.
