But if given no choices, what would a reluctant Canuck reach for? One that springs to mind is that 92% of all potash used in the US is imported, and close to 90% of that comes from Canada.
Yes, Potash was one of the US exclusions that was discussed on the Toronto news as being one of the options to hit back with. They pointed out that the exclusions list from the US provided them with a map of how to hurt the US the hardest.
The proper response to the saying "Never bring a knife to a gunfight" is "Why on earth would you want to be in a gunfight?"
I doubt very much that any country "wants" to be in a gunfight, but when presented with a gun to your face, about the only choice is similar or stronger munitions. Bullies don't stop their behavior by the opponent backing down. They only respect a similar show of force. The world is developing the tools needed to avoid this economic bully altogether. The level of economic destruction that we are heading towards is impressive for one man. I hate to see what our taxes will be post Trump, as we dig ourselves out of the ever increasing deficit, spent on stupid things, with a decreasing economic base and fewer international buyers of our debt.
