why DFSV and not Avantis AVUV, which seems to be the hot ticket?

If I understand correctly, Avantis uses value (low P/B) and profitability in their screen: Value and quality.

I'm not familiar with Avantis, but at a glance it sounds like a similar instrument to DFSV, which is an active SCV ETF that is managed like an index. Dimensional Funds has been doing it a lot longer than AVUV, in the fund DFSVX, so there's more history there. I wanted to invest in DFSVX for a long time, but it used to only be sold with a load, so I used SCV index funds instead. The introduction of an ETF version made it available without a load.
